This project involved cutting out a piece of wall storage with a CNC router and self-installing it by the client.
In order to efficiently store things in the limited wall space, the shelves were made in an L-shape, with smaller shelves at the top, larger shelves at the bottom, and a monitor in the center.
The shape of the shelves was adjusted so that the top was small, the bottom was large, and the monitor was in the center, incorporating various ideas generated through dialogue with the customer.
We also took into account factors such as yield, structural stability, and safety, rounding off the details and gently curving the overall shape.
It was a series of rational decisions, but the result is a strange shape that at first glance appears irrational.
