This was an interior design project for a restaurant that hosts a wide variety of events. In addition to the client’s request for a space to be unoccupied, short-term construction, and low cost, the prerequisites were a response to events, a material image, and collaboration with a variety of members through a separate ordering system that took advantage of the client’s horizontal connections.
When considering how to approach the project, we thought that the ideal policy would be to work side by side with diverse members along the time axis and design while responding to the output. We consciously designed a relationship in which the space and the things participating in the space could be treated equally, aiming for a state in which the image of the space emerges from a set of fragments. The design of the space was consciously designed in such a way that the space and the things participating in the space could be treated equally. The decision of the fragments was then delayed and the balance of the interior was adjusted in a post-processing manner so that the colors and materials rhyme with each other.
Custom-made furniture such as a movable DJ booth, disassembled tables, and stacking stools provide flexibility for activities beyond the expected, providing a space that is important to the local community.
